C. THE 'EPUPA EXPERIENCE'
(3 days / 2 nights) Valid 20.01.2008 - 30.11.2008

This Safari takes you to one of the natural wonders of the north-west, the Epupa Falls in the Kunene River, on the border between Namibia and Angola.

Day 1: Early morning departure from Kavita Lion Lodge, travelling northwards to Opuwo, the bustling 'capital' of the Kunene Region. Caught between tradition and a beckoning westernised lifestyle, the inhabitants and visitors to Opuwo go about their daily business. The rugged yet scenic landscape of the Kaokoveld, the Himba people tending their long-horned cattle, the photographic opportunities and the detailed insight into the tribal life and customs, are sure to mesmerise you. Arrival late afternoon at the tented 'Epupa Camp' (or alternative) on the banks of the Kunene River.

Day 2: Early morning bird-song and breakfast under the Makalani Palms prepares you for the activities of the day: sight-seeing, walks near the Epupa Falls, a visit to a Himba settlement where you will witness an age-old culture, traditional garb, festivities in various forms - the semi-nomadic lifestyle of the Kaokoland wilderness.

Day 3: Breakfast and return to Kavita Lion Lodge in time for afternoon coffee/tea and cake.
