THE 'ECO-ETHNO' EXPERIENCE...........

  • AfriCat North (previously Afri-Leo)- is a registered, Namibian-based, non-profit organisation, dedicated to the conservation and protection of the wild lion in Namibia (Panthera leo). The programme includes a short visit to the Environmental Education Centre, where our guests are introduced to the works of the AFRI-LEO FOUNDATION: insight into the farmer-predator conflict issues along the boundary of the Etosha National Park, the research and monitoring programmes and an over-view of the Lion Sanctuary, where rescued lions, now have their home. This MORNING activity is approximately 2 – 3 hrs in length, including lion viewing from the safety of a hide, and returning to the Lodge for a late breakfast. RHINO TRACKING AND WESTERN ETOSHA EXCURSIONS

Kavita Lion Lodge now proudly offers you RHINO TRACKING, as an additional afternoon activity.

We are happy to be part of the MET Rhino Custodianship Scheme and would like to share with our guests, this most inspiring experience.
Please note the following:

1. Preferably for 2-nighters, the Rhino Tracking activity should be pre-booked;

2. Should one-nighters wish to undertake this activity, they should arrive at KAVITA LION LODGE, no later than 12h00.

3. Costs: N$ 440.00 p.p. per trail (valid 01.09.2011 – 31.10.2012). This trail departs early afternoon and returns to the lodge before dark.

4. Due to the nature of this activity, each participant is obliged to sign a "Waiver & Indemnity". Children under the age of 15 yrs are not permitted and parents are obliged to sign the "Waiver & Indemnity" for their under-age children.

5. The RHINO TRACKING activity is non-commissionable.

As of September 2011, The Kavita Lion Lodge WESTERN ETOSHA WILDERNESS Excursion is on offer.

Join us in the wildest part of the Etosha National Park, on the Western Etosha Wilderness excursion. This pristine wilderness and 'untamed' wildlife in the remote western part of Etosha offers guests an exciting, new adventure.

Please note the following:

1. This most recent addition to the Kavita Lion Lodge Eco-Safaris programme includes the following: one night at Kavita Lion Lodge, a minimum of one night at the NWR Dolomite Camp in western Etosha, returning to Kavita Lion Lodge for the third night. Any amount of additional nights at Dolomite Camp, Okaukuejo or Halali may be arranged.

2. All Safaris start and end at Kavita Lion Lodge.

3. All Safaris are guided by one of the Kavita Lion Lodge Staff

4. Advance bookings are advisable in order to prevent disappointment.
